On behalf of the faculty, staff, and alumni of the College of Arts and Sciences, I congratulate you on your graduation! It has been our keen honor and privilege to teach, work with, and mentor you. Nosotros are thrilled for your achievement and proud of you.
Like you, we are disappointed non to be able to ship yous off in person. But that doesn't hateful we won't be celebrating you! Please plan on returning here on Tuesday, June 8, at 10 a.grand. Carole Grand. Dodson, MBA, Humanities and Social Science '71
Carole Gardner Dodson is an ExxonMobil retiree. After graduating from Drexel with a bachelor's in humanities and social scientific discipline in 1971, Ms. Dodson was offered a management position at Bloomingdale's but instead chose to pursue an MBA at New York University's Stern Schoolhouse of Business. After receiving her MBA, she became a Certified Public Auditor and worked at Coopers & Lybrand in New York and Philadelphia before joining Rohm and Haas Company. In 1980, she and her married man, Samuel Dodson (Drexel '70), took reward of an R&H assignment that relocated them to Houston. Although their original plan was to return to Philadelphia, the Dodsons elected to remain in Houston. Ms. Dodson joined ExxonMobil where she enjoyed a multi-faceted career in financial reporting, procurement and SAP systems. Her work on the ExxonMobil STRIPES project took her and her husband to Brussels, Miami, and dorsum to Houston. Among other interests, Ms. Dodson serves on the Lath of Directors of The Beacon of Downtown Houston.
Undergraduate Student Speaker:
Tim Hanlon, BS Biology '21
Tim Hanlon, an honors biology major with a concentration in organismal biological science and physiology, holds a pocket-sized in neuroscience, certificates in artistic writing and in publishing, and is also the outgoing Educatee Trunk President. During his time at Drexel, Tim was the chair of the Undergraduate Student Government Association'south Sustainability Committee during his junior year, won the Drexel Publishing Group's Writing Competition for humour the past three years, and ran in the Philadelphia Marathon. In addition to this, Tim has volunteered equally an academic tutor for SquashSmarts since January 2018 and as a student volunteer at Penn Presbyterian Hospital during his junior twelvemonth. After graduation, Tim volition be returning to Harvard Medical School and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to go along his inquiry on novel cancer treatments before attending medical school.
Graduate Student Speaker:
Angel Hogan, MFA Creative Writing '21
Angel Hogan is an activist, poet, and filmmaker pursuing an MFA in artistic writing at Drexel University. Angel has performed as part of the Black Women'due south Arts Festival, Literary Death Lucifer, Moonstone Presents, Kickoff Person Arts, and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She worked with ArtWell and was a contributing editor to Philadelphia Stories and a review panelist for the Philadelphia Cultural Fund. Angel is interested in storytelling as a vehicle for visibility and community edifice. Her documentary, "By Law, Past Love: A Documentary nearly Family unit, Race and Identity," was completed in 2019. Angel works full-time at LeBow Higher of Concern.
